Highlights to explore

Ruaha is the largest National Park in East Africa spanning an area of about 20‚226 square kilometres. The name of the park is derived from the Great Ruaha River which flows along its south-eastern margin and is the focus for game-viewing. This conservation sanctuary offers to guests the sensation of being completely alone‚ with forest and wildlife all around.

1. Ruaha is one of very few parks where you can see both greater and lesser kudu.

2. The park covers a vast area with minimal camps‚ which makes for an intimate safari experience with an interesting mix of habitats and wildlife species.

3. Ruaha National Park is a typical dry season park‚ with the best time to see larger mammals and predators being between mid-May and December. As water becomes scarce toward the end of the dry season‚ game gathers around available water sources‚ offering unbeatable game viewing opportunities.

4. During the wet season from January to April the bush becomes lush and green and many migratory birds arrive from the northern climes‚ making it an idyllic birdwatching paradise.
